In short: On Air collects what it needs to generate and play voiced intros for your music, manage your subscription, and understand how the app is used. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
You can delete your account and its data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app.
1. Who we are
On Air ("the App") is developed and operated by Jet27 Labs LTD ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales. We are the data controller for personal data processed through the App and this website. You can contact us at admin@onairintro.app.
2. What we collect
Account information
- An account ID. When you first open the App we create an account identified by a random ID, so your history, achievements, and subscription can be linked together.
- Sign in with Apple. Signing in with Apple is required to finish setting up the App. We receive a stable Apple user identifier and the email address Apple shares with us — which may be a private relay address if you choose "Hide My Email". We don't receive your name. We use this to secure your account, let you recover your history and purchases on another device, and apply the free intro allowance once per Apple ID.
Music and listening activity
- Songs you play with intros: the song's Apple Music ID, title, artist, and recording code (ISRC), which we use to find facts and generate or reuse an intro.
- Your intro history: which intros were delivered to and played for you, so you don't hear the same intro twice in a row, and so your History and "Wrapped" summaries work.
- Achievements and badges you earn, and which facts you've heard.
- Things you choose to send us: thumbs up/down ratings on facts, intro problem reports (including any comment you add), and facts you suggest. Suggested facts may be reviewed and, if approved, used in intros heard by other listeners.
Apple Music library
With your permission, the App reads your Apple Music playlists and library so you can pick what to play, and creates or edits playlists when you ask it to. This happens between the App and Apple on your device; we don't copy your library to our servers. We only receive details of the songs that play with an intro, as described above.
Voice search (microphone and speech recognition)
If you use voice search, the App uses your microphone and Apple's speech recognition to turn what you say into a search. Speech recognition is provided by Apple and may send audio to Apple for processing, under Apple's privacy policy. We don't record or store your audio; we only use the transcribed text to search Apple Music.
Purchases
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple. We never see your payment card or billing details. We receive and store subscription information from Apple — such as your subscription status, product, expiry date, and transaction identifiers — to unlock premium features and handle renewals, cancellations, and refunds.
Free intro allowance
To stop the free intro allowance being claimed repeatedly, we keep a one-way cryptographic hash of your Apple user identifier alongside a count of free intros used. The hash can't be reversed into your Apple ID or email, and it isn't linked to your account.
Usage analytics and diagnostics
We use PostHog (hosted in the EU) to understand how the App is used and to find problems. It records events such as completing onboarding, viewing the paywall, starting a purchase, generating or playing an intro, and unlocking a badge, together with app opens and screen views, your device model, operating system and app versions, and an approximate location (such as country) derived from your IP address. These events are linked to your account ID, not your name or email. We do not use session recording, and we do not use analytics data for advertising.
Website analytics
onairintro.app (this website) also uses PostHog, in a separate project from the App, to understand page views and how visitors reach us — such as page URL, referrer, browser, device type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. This is not linked to your App account. We do not use session recording, and we do not use website analytics data for advertising.
3. How we use your data
| Purpose | Data used | Legal basis (UK/EU GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Generating, caching, and playing intros; history, achievements, "Wrapped" | Account ID, listening activity | Performance of our contract with you |
| Subscriptions, free allowance, restoring purchases | Purchase information, Apple identifier (and its hash) | Contract; legitimate interests (preventing abuse) |
| Account recovery via Sign in with Apple | Apple identifier, email | Contract |
| Improving fact accuracy and intro quality | Ratings, reports, suggestions | Legitimate interests |
| Analytics, diagnostics, and security | Usage events, device and app details | Legitimate interests |
| Voice search | Microphone audio (processed by Apple) | Your permission, which you can withdraw in iOS Settings |
4. Who we share data with
We don't sell or rent your personal data, and we don't share it for advertising. We use the following service providers ("processors"), who handle data only on our instructions:
- Supabase — database, file storage, and server functions (hosted in the EU, Ireland).
- PostHog — product analytics (hosted in the EU).
- Apple — Apple Music, in-app purchases, Sign in with Apple, Siri, CarPlay, and speech recognition, under Apple's own terms and privacy policy.
To create intros we also send song information only — such as title, artist, and public facts about the song — to OpenAI (writing the intro script) and Fish Audio (turning the script into speech), and we look songs up in public music databases (Wikipedia, Wikidata, MusicBrainz, and LRCLIB). None of these requests include your account ID, name, email, or other personal data.
We may disclose data if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or as part of a business sale or reorganisation, in which case this policy will continue to apply.
5. International transfers
Your personal data is stored in the EU. Where a provider processes personal data outside the UK or EU, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Song information sent to intro-generation providers contains no personal data.
6. How long we keep data
- Account and listening data is kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your history, usage counts, ratings, reports, subscription records, achievements, and account. Deleted data may remain in encrypted database backups for up to 7 days before being overwritten.
- The free-allowance hash is kept after account deletion to prevent abuse. It contains no personal information we can use to identify you.
- Suggested facts that became part of the App's fact library are kept without any link to you.
- Analytics events are kept for as long as they're useful for improving the App and are then deleted or anonymised.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent. You can delete your account directly in the App. For any other request, email admin@onairintro.app; we'll respond within one month. You may need to tell us your account details (shown in the App under Settings) so we can find your data, since most of it is linked only to an anonymous ID.
If you're in the UK, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk); in the EU, to your local data protection authority. We'd appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.
California residents: we don't sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we don't use it for cross-context behavioural advertising. You have the rights to know, delete, and correct, and we won't discriminate against you for using them.
8. Tracking and advertising
On Air doesn't show ads and doesn't track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, so it doesn't ask for App Tracking Transparency permission.
9. Children
On Air isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, access to our systems is restricted, and each account's data is isolated by access rules. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a breach where the law requires it.
11. This website
onairintro.app doesn't use cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts. Our web host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App changes. We'll change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the App.
